A Little About Mindjam Media

Zeke Rodrigues Thomas and Jarrett Sleeper are award-winning writers and producing partners who met beating each other up. No really. They met training MMA and upon realizing they could both make each other laugh AND kick each other with some measure of abandon, they decided to start a collaboration that has lasted more than a decade.
Their first show together, “Gidmo Taylor’s The Way Of Unarmed Defense Against Zombies (UDAZ-DO)”, a soft-scripted zombie self-defense seminar hosted by a pair of monster hunting good ol’ boys, set the tone for their comedic voice: one full of non-traditional mediums and an affection for Verhoeven-esque genre satire. Since that first show the pair have written, directed, produced, and performed a wide spectrum of content, from snappy viral videos licensed across the world (How To Pick Up A Girl at The Gym, Typical Crossfit Workout, Kid Comes Out Of The Closet and Parents Flip, Break’s Prank Bank, Moon Juice) to a fully co-produced scripted anthology series (Don’t Go Alone for Nickelodeon Digital). They’ve created/produced/showrun unscripted content ranging from live multicam, multi-day live-streams (Official Vidcon Live Stream 2016, 2017), long form interviews with beloved TV stars (Throwback with Nickelodeon), comedic viral pranks (DEFY Media’s Prank Bank), man-on-the-street pop culture interviews (Totally Clevver) They have told stories on flat screens (Fourth Door for go90, Lullaby with Skybound, Nourish with Guillermo del Toro and Legendary) as well as immersive 360 video environments (Happy Death Day 360 for Paramount Pictures). As writers their pilot script, Karate City, was a semifinalist in the Austin Film Fest Original Pilot Screenplay competition, making the top 2% of thousands of submitted works. Their short film based on the same concept has collected many laurels on the festival circuit including Best Comedy Short at The Underground Indie Film Festival and official selection at countless others. Also Zeke frequently winds up coaching kickboxing and Jarrett occasionally competes as a brown belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, so yes: they’re still beating each other up whenever time permits. |
